Hot, humid weather with no AC, war, omnipresent corporate monopolies, psychiatric hospitals, suicidal ideation, physical pain, and students finding nothing wrong with using ChatGPT for everything – this was beyond depressing to read.
Ahh I really didn’t mean for it to be so but now looking back yeah it is a bit.. i guess it encapsulates this specific time in history.. super hot humid weather + smoke from wildfires bc of climate change, stress/general anxiety over global politics like iran/israel, palestine, politics in the US, and uni students who are supposed to be our future diplomats that are overreliant on AI and addicted to their phones etc..
I share those anxieties, believe me, and I’m older—it’s even more anxiety-inducing for those younger than me. There’s something about you addressing it in your writing that helps deal with it…maybe misery loves company & all that, I dunno. And any writing that is completely honest/unrestrained/personal is usually going to resonate with me. On that note, fuck ChatGPT!
